Emily Jones: From Concerned Mom to Champion for Education
Before she ever considered running for office, Emily Jones was just a mom doing what moms do best—supporting her child.
The Moment Everything Changed
During one of the most challenging seasons in education, Emily’s young son was struggling. She asked for help. She sought answers. But instead of support, she was met with resistance. What started as a simple request for clarity turned into a wake-up call.
Rather than back down, Emily leaned in. She began asking bigger questions: If it’s this hard for me, what about the families who don’t know how to push back? Who’s advocating for their kids?
That moment lit a fire in her.
From Advocacy to Action
With nearly two decades of experience in financial leadership—including work with the Department of Defense—Emily brought a sharp eye for accountability and a deep respect for process. She began to see that the problems in our education system weren’t just surface-level—they were systemic.
Emily didn’t start this journey looking for a title. She simply wanted to help her son. But when doors kept closing, she realized the only way to make real change was to step into the room where decisions are made.
Why She’s Running
Emily is now running for the Alabama State Board of Education to give parents a voice, restore academic excellence, and ensure transparency at every level of our education system.
She believes:
Parents deserve a seat at the table
Students deserve high standards and strong support
Taxpayers deserve transparency and responsible leadership
Emily’s not a career politician. She’s a mom, a leader, and a relentless advocate for kids.
